My Absolute Favorite Lego Container Ever!

Several months ago, my son began started playing with Legos...and I became a Lego Mom.
Lego Mom: noun, def Mother of lego child; finder of legos, usually in the middle of the night by contact with feet; possessor of loud Lego scream (produced by contact of Legos to said feet).
And then I found this (possibly the best toy container ever invented):

My son (and now daughter) can spread out the Lay-n-Go, play for hours, and then quickly cinch up the bag and put ALL the Legos away...and I no longer find spare Legos with the bottom of my feet.

I love the Lay-n-Go! Honestly, this is the best Lego container ever.

The above link is an Affiliate Link, not because I expect to make millions. I just think all Lego Moms NEED this. Seriously.

Your feet will thank me for it.

My Hello Card...And Some Bleach

CREATE Magazine has a weekly competition, and I decided to give it a try. The challenge this week is to use these colors:

I decided to try something different, and I ended up using bleach on my card. What do you think?

You are probably wondering where is the bleach, right?

I made this card with light grey cardstock which I ran through my Big Shot using an embossing folder. Then I took a Q-tip dipped in bleach and outlined the embossed shape. It turned white(ish), which allowed me to color in the flowers and stems with the aqua (flowers) and chartreuse (stems and leaves). I glittered the corner and added the pearl brad and ribbon (which I stamped with hello in grey ink).

Here's another angle that shows the embossing a little better:

I know this card really doesn't look like I used bleach. But, trust me...I have the after-effects of the fumes to prove it, lol. :-)

It felt great to make a card has been a long time. And I really liked the effect of the bleach...on the card. I think I may try it again, but next time I'll be sure to do it in a well-ventilated spot or wear a mask or something.

Happy stamping!

Scholastic Storybook Treasures DVDs Giveaway

I am always looking for fun educational things to give my children as gifts. I know, I know...most kids wouldn't put fun and educational in the same sentence, right? Well, with Scholastic, I think we can legitimately put those words together.

Right now, Inspired by Savannah is hosting a giveaway for a set of Scholastic Storybook Treasures DVDs, and the winner gets to choose which set they want! This is the one I would LOVE to win:

My kids LOVE Magic School Bus, and I love that they are learning when they watch them!

Deep Blue Kids Bible Giveaway

Inspired by Savannah is giving away the Deep Blue Kids Bible, pictured here:

I have been looking for a new bible for my 9-year-old son, who struggles to remember his Bible reading each day. After reading reviews on this bible, I think this would be one Bible he would not forget!

Homeschool Reviews says this:

"We have lots of Bibles in our house, but this one is just perfect for explaining things on their level and hitting things that are issues in their lives!  When we took turns reading our Scripture reading for the day the kids all wanted to read out of this Bible and always asked if they could also read us all the ‘extras’ on the pages!  We learned a lot from these! We really loved almost everything about this Bible."

If you would like a chance to win this bible, go HERE. Giveaway ends December 31.
